It’s about proportionality.

There’s a pretty extreme double standard from the people who want serious activism against Israel, for offenses that pale in comparison to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Pakistan, etc etc etc. There’s people want to hold Israel to a vastly higher standard than other “allies” who receive comparable foreign aid.

What South Africa was doing was a LOT more extreme than what Israel is doing; and what North Carolina tried was was off base from what the rest of the States found acceptable.

I don’t find that ploughing under an entire family’s homes for the actions of one criminal to be proportional. I see dividing up the Occupied West Bank into tiny homelands with no possibility for investment exactly the same as that employed by South Africa. I see the same with demanding checkpoints all over the OWB, and driving a wall through people’s private property to separate them no different than Donald Trump’s or East Germany’s walls. I see holding Gaza as an open air prison camp with no supplies allowed in for improvements about the same as any other concentration camp.
