I see Trump is having problems with “priming the pump” as if he created the phrase.

Doesn’t the phrase really come from the mechanical world. Pumps of all kinds, like water pumps, probably the first pumps, need primed before you get them up running properly.

The phrase may be even older than some are saying, but if it is just about how it is used to explain the economy then it probably goes to the Depression era.

When Trump finally stumbles on something generally known by everyone but new to him, he thinks he created it. What a putz. Pride comes before the fall.
