There’s a New Age trope that water and food have some kind of psychic “energy” inherent in them, which can be enhanced or destroyed depending on how they are prepared. For example, electric heat is bad, while gas heat is good, and microwaves are evil.

Learning this from my ex made my head hurt.

I remember having that sort of discussion with some serious wholesale crystal vendors in Santa Fe, NM in the 80’s.

I explained that I had studied crystallography and crystal chemistry and was familiar with the basic principles of how they work, and asked it they could please describe these various forms of crystal “energy” in terms of what goes in, what comes out and what happens to it in between those points?

That was just too prosaic and limited for them…
