There are going to be people who die in Afghanistan that will have been born after the attacks. Next year’s seniors will be kids that were born after the attacks. My cousin’s boy who wasn’t even one years old when the attacks happened and a senior this year is thinking about enlisting in the Navy.

Since I was a Navy recruiter, I would note this.

Signing up for the military means you support what the government is doing wholeheartedly. That would mean supporting Trump and his enablers. That means going to war if Trump or the GOP congress decides we need to do that (or Trump got his feelings hurt by a tweet).

When I was in the Navy, I would have argued strongly for considering it. Now, not so much, until we have a stable government.
