all right, i want to know the following things: are the people in ICU who claim they are vaccinated actually vaccinated, or are they just lying so that they don’t have to be lectured by staff? If they’ve actually been vaccinated, were they immunocompromised to the point where the vaccine just wasn’t effective, or were they between doses of pfizer or moderna, or were they inside the first week or two after the second dose? I want to have a sense of what my actual chances are of being hospitalized if I’m healthy, not immunocompromised, got both doses of pfizer, and am well past the window for when strong immunity should have kicked in. ‘Cause I’m gonna be in a small room with students this fall, some vaccinated, some not, and I don’t want to be a tragic story in the Washington Post.

My sense is that breakthrough cases are rare, and usually mild, especially if you are healthy.
