One thing that irks me about the Superbowl is how it’s always played somewhere down south. They always talk about local benefits for football but when the Packers were in the Superbowl, Wisconsin didn’t see one penny of the hotel, shopping and other revenues from that investment from taxpayers or fans. It stinks.

Here is the important thing to remember:

The supposed economic benefits are complete horseshit and almost always amount to nothing compared to the effort and resources used to host the game.

Hosting professional sports franchises is a fucking con.
