Those “bathroom bills” are a key example of it. The whole premise of the bills is that we have to keep men from ending up in the women’s bathroom at all costs or they’ll just end up raping everyone in sight.

They’re going to obey the law against going into the ladies’ room, even though they’d cheerfully break the law against rape once they got in there. Makes perfect sense.
