I’m not sure how this works, but since Pruitt resigned, does this mean that he would have to be reconfirmed by the Senate to take over for Sessions, or can he still just be appointed without Senate approval? Depending on how this goes, I’m either optimistic or extremely pessimistic about what comes next.

He would have to be reconfirmed by the Senate for the AG spot in any event, resignation or not.
