That’s not new though; there’s a reason “slave Bibles” existed in the antebellum South. Cutting out all the social justice stuff just in case someone might read what the book actually says and get “uppity.”

this is what I have a really hard time grasping. fundie churches are generally huge into apocrypal scripture. do they honestly not look at what is going on and find themselves squeaking uncomfortably back and forth in their chairs? i mean, seriously? God is going to give you a prophet who acts like Donald Trump? Did God ever do that, anywhere in the Bible?
