Reliving this has me pissed off all over again.
I served this Spring, we acquitted the kid on a bullshit misdemeanor charge that should never have been brought and the whole experience ended up feeling pretty rewarding. Of course, it wasn’t Christmas Eve and voir dire took longer than the actual trial

I was SO pissed after they showed us the body cam footage. How do you roll up to a MEDICAL call & in under 3 & 1/2 minutes decide w/o examination to arrest a drunk kid who’s being HELD DOWN by his parents who are telling you that he hit his head & needs medical attention?

We had a prosecutor who had JUST retired in the panel and he almost made it. The baby prosecutor handling case struck him during voir dire near the end after asking him if he’d second guess bringing the case in the first place.
In retrospect that was a tell— Jason McGobble-Gobble (@goddamnedfrank) November 28, 2019
