I don’t think there’s a war on Christmas, but I think they have a tiny fraction of a point. We shouldn’t shy away from calling something done for the 12/25 holiday “Christmas” if that’s what it is.

What originally bothered people was the presumption that the entirety of the USA celebrates Christmas. Nobody wanted holidays of other religious traditions lumped into one generic “December 25 Holiday” category which is what has happened.
