We’ve had Republicans argue that the minimum wage hurts job growth, hurts the poor, hurts teenagers, hurts communities, and yet they want to suggest that the only reason that Democrats are putting out a vote to raise the minimum wage is to get Republicans on record as being against the minimum wage?

When people cannot live from their wages and rely on government aid, it is a de facto government wage subsidy. But the GOP is fine on welfare as long as it is the corporate kind.
