They were OK with voting for it, because it didn’t rank very high on their list. But I do think it could be a bit like why TV cameras in the south were useful in getting the CRA and VRA passed: People where shamed into not wanting to be part of that.
I’m trying to suggest a way to divide those like my coworkers, low info voters who I think can be shamed, from those who obviously cannot.
I’m working on the same here in my little village, but I do not have a national voice. My voice does not extend much past what articles I write for my local paper, and I fear doing that now (but I will continue to write them, because I stand for the Oath of Enlistment and Oath of Office I have affirmed my entire adult life).
May my epitaph read: He stood for freedom and democracy in the darkest of times.
