Ted Kennedy’s actions led to the death of a female staffer. Robert Byrd owned being a former member of the KKK. Both went out as lions of the Senate.

Al Franken was accused of being grabby and not thinking his actions through. He’s now being shuffled out the back door with a female replacement sold to us as a positive thing.

I think that is a bad argument. And I was around and remember all that too.

I even remember the Volkswagen Beetle ad in National Lampoon!

I do believe there are changes over time. That was too long ago and it would be wrong to think a lot of people were not upset and made a big thing over Kennedy. Same with Byrd.
