Perot was just an as big as an outsider to politics. I don’t think that’s quite what it was. I think he said a lot of things that our white majority population wanted to hear and the equally white majority in the media especially ownership didn’t call it out for what it was lest they fear “offending” “middle America.”

perot was and sounded way smarter (he had charts!)
and as an outsider to politics was just a bit too….goofy, off, buffoonish

the country wasnt ready to take ‘buffoonish’ seriously and put it behind the desk

ps - as president he would have been way over his head. not knowing anybody or having a clue how it all worked. and so much is foreign policy, not ‘management’ or budgets

still he would have been light years better than this our first foray into outsider / buffoon
