PS: nothing against marrying cousins, but when every marriage is a cousin marriage, it can’t be healthy. Just look at the European royal dynasties.

Even in non-royal bloodlines cousin marriage can wreak havoc, like there are hereditary disorders more or less common to Finland, caused by the distances between populations until modern transportation came along.
Personally, I’d prefer 7 degrees of separation precisely to prevent crap building up in the gene pool.
