My GF also showed me a Chinese recipe that involves cooking tofu with ground pork (only a small amount, mostly to impart flavor). I also had trouble with that concept, but it works

Can’t remember the Chinese name, but in Japanese it’s mabo dofu. Add in some peppers for the fire. It’s delicious.
