So here’s my real life encounter with a Canadian gal this past weekend in Vegas…

My son and I are on the moving sidewalk into Bally’s when this gal comes right up to my back while we are just riding along with our drinks - just like a dozen or so others in front of us.
I turned to her and greeted her with a smile and a tip of my beer.

“You know, most people just standing would move to the right to let others pass them.”

I looked ahead of us at all those just standing and motioned to her. “Well, we had the same thought but with everyone else ahead of us just enjoying themselves… we thought to do the same.”

She sighed loudly. “This is why you Americans are the most hated in the world.”

That comment got my son to turn around. “Actually, that would be the French according to most polls done around the world… why are you hating on us?”

“Oh sure” she replies. ” I bet you’ve never even been outside your country.”

“Oh oh… why did you go there” I thought, knowing the shitstorm about to blow…

My son took a second and then said “As a matter of fact, I just spent a week in Nicaragua helping a town start on some economic programs to better their lives and was welcomed by everyone I met there - had a great time and would go back… where have you been?”

About that time, we reached the end of the moving sidewalk and she gave a glare at my son and I and stormed off.

Too bad, my son didn’t get to relate how in Toronto his Hockey team’s equipment van was stolen during a tournament there….
