I learned two interesting facts today. First, apparently the Institute of Medicine thinks we should all be pissing our brains out, with their recommendation that everyone drink nearly a gallon of water every day.

Second, the English eat some really weird shit. Literally. I looked up the definition of ‘bloaters’, which is a lightly salted, lightly smoked, UNGUTTED herring, with a ‘gamier’ flavor than the more heavily smoked kippers, which also don’t contain fish shit.

I’ve eaten just about anything put in front of me including rat (and that’s not a joke). The only thing to make me throw it up? Pickled herring at the Albert Cuyp market in Amsterdam. 1st bite, not sure. 2nd pretty sure it wasn’t for me. 3rd…. barfed in the bin next to the stall. Hideous. Truly hideous.
