I normally don’t like Fournier and the pronoun game but that is a good observation. TBH although I liked Molly Ivins, I always thought the born on third base and thinks he hit a triple was unfair to H.W. Bush. It should have been saved for Mitt Romney or Trump :).

In all the praise for Bush, there tends to be several flaws that are overlooked:
1. His selection of the totally unqualified Dan Quayle as running mate, purely because he thought Quayle would appeal to younger voters.
2. His appointment of Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court.
3. His abandonment of the Kurds after inciting them to support us during the first Gulf War.
