I have a divorced-mom friend with two daughters, 15 and 14. The older, the same age as my youngest, could power a small city if you hooked her up to a generator, and she and my son feed off of each other when they’re together, coming up with all sorts of crazy things. But mom’s job is at home now because of the virus so she needs the kids at school.

This is again proving my point. School is daycare for kids. Sure, they learn, and I’m taking nothing away from teachers (who should be paid more!), but school is daycare.

Forcing reopening puts kids, teachers and families at risk.

How many of you with kids feel good about sending kids back to school (not how many need it, which is a whole different and valuable discussion)?
