Wealth as an indicator of your worth as a human being is a huge problem. My one percenter sibling thinks anyone who isn’t rich is a failure as a human being. My brother-in-law and his wife have the same attitude. Dude and I are less than they are because we are part of the former middle class, struggling to pay our bills.

The only thing that matters is money. This attitude is one of the biggest problems we must deal with. How do we change it? Can we change it?

In an ideal world where your ambition, initiative and work ethic were clearly and directly reflected in your degree wealth, that might begin to make sense.

This is just residual Calvinism and a lot of people working hard to stuff that camel through the eye of a needle…
