My brother and niece did DNA tests over Christmas.

My brother’s came back 99% European.

17% “broadly Northwestern European”
35.3% “French and German”
North Rhine - Westphalia; Grisons, Switzerland and three other regions
(This is probably both sides of my family. Mother’s side has German cultural roots in Alsace, and part of father’s family traced to Wurms along the Rhine as well.)

41.9% “British and Irish”
Glasgow, County Donegal, and 18 other regions.
(Both sides of family marrying Irish and British after they came over to North America. The one part traced to Wurms was over in the future United States in 1718.)

What I would like to see is my niece’s report since I suspect it would be much more of an exotic mix.
