Years ago, when The Bell Curve was initially published, a colleague with a PhD in mathematics and I discussed the book and I recall his railing against the shoddy work within the text. We both had read it out of curiosity and found it very underwhelming and detestable. Sullivan wanted to believe and he still does because it reinforced his existing Tory prejudices — he’s a racist and misogynist.
