Obama beat Clinton in 2008. Why should Bernie have gotten special treatment? And I’ll be blunt, I thought the Democrats were overly generous to let him run for their nomination. I get that he caucuses with the party but he’d never formally committed to the party really either. Seems to me that Sanders and his allies wanted it both ways. They wanted to be able to win but also distance themselves from the party when they felt it conveinient and that’s just not leadership.

Which is exactly what Bernie did, as soon as the general was over and Trump won. Hell, IIRC, before the primaries were over, he filed the paperwork for his Senate reelection for next year as an “independant” again, which sounds shady as fucking hell for someone that was trying to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
