re: #306 SanFranciscoZionist
Well, that’s my take on Romney. But because of that, I wonder what kind of a statement of support I, or other folks of my general political ilk, would accept as intellectually honest anyway.
I think with DF, my main motivation in continuing to question him is curiosity.
In most places on the internet where you can find Republican voters (be it on the right-wing blogs, the Twitter accounts of famous conservatives, or the craziness of comment sections for major news sites, not to mention on TV), their comments usually leave no doubt as to why they’re voting that way. From out-right racism, to homophobia, to simple greed or stupidity, they usually wear it on their sleeves.
But with DF….he recognizes that much of what the modern day “leaders” of his party say is absolutely vile, disgusting nonsense. He joins us in mocking the Fischers, Akins, Limbaughs, and Hannity’s of the world….but then he turns around and agrees with them at the ballot box. He doesn’t seem to fit into any category of people who SHOULD be voting Republican. And when asked why he does, he doesn’t really provide an answer.
Really, it’s just baffling to me. And that makes it a curiosity.
