2 different issues.

1. Should the All-Star Gospel Jesus have been mentioned in the surviving external records? Not necessarily, but very probably yes.

2. Should the actual (if he existed) historical end-times prophet, of which there were dime a dozen, have been mentioned any significant external records? Nah.

I agree. It’s no secret to anyone that apocalyptic preachers could be found on pretty much any street corner in Roman-occupied Judea.
