It may be more that modern technology has bypassed their communities. The new corporations have no interest in moving to where they live or providing services to them. They have family and roots where they are and they don’t want to have to relocate to somewhere else in the country. But essentially that is what the Dems are telling them. Of course their ancestors abandoned the old world, left family and home behind, to go where the jobs and future were. These people have lost that spirit.

Republicans keep killing efforts to get broadband to rural communities across the country. There was a story on ARSTechna just yesterday.
