The cultural appropriation thing I really think that element of the left could live and let live on. It’s not like the girl in Utah was being disrespectful or mocking Chinese culture. If anything, very respectful. I really think cultural exchanges are good. I’ve come to appreciate Peruvian cuisine through my sil and my Ukrainian coworker taught me a great Ukrainian proverb about life constantly being a learning journey.

It’s bullshit, of course. Fashion isn’t cultural, it’s just textiles. A huayabana is a comfortable Central American shirt in a hot climate. I’m not stealing from Costa Ricans if I wear one. If Charles wears a classic Hawaiian shirt, he’s not a thieving haole ripping off native culture. If my friend Oliver Rajamani’s German wife Anita wears a churidar, she not stealing anything from Indian culture. She is celebrating its beauty.

It’s a stupid argument and whoever made needs to be told to STFU and STFD.
