I rather think the American Dream involves one day being so rich that we can afford to give stuff away. Which is why its so sad to see it perverted into this ideal of becoming so obscenely wealthy that you find yourself constantly paranoid that the government’s gonna come and take it away.

I hate to say it, but what became of the standards set by Carnegie, Rockefeller and Vanderbilt?
