I had the same problem a while back, when I bought wheeled bins but turns out we had the same 32 gallon limit set by the town.

I must admit, writing from Socialist Europe, the idea that you provide your own bins seems weird. We tell the town hall how many people are living in the house and they provide a bin of the appropriate size, labeled with your address.

(Actually I’m writing from Communist Europe, but I didn’t want to freak you out).
