After 2012 the Republicans had a choice. And they chose to become a party of White supremacists. They could have been de Klerk. Instead they opted for Botha.

This will not end well.

What will prevent them from declaring us “enemy combatants?”

So many authoritarian regimes derived their power from “democratic” means. And the flaws within our Constitution - from the Connecticut Compromise to the Electoral College - will have allowed the unimaginable become reality.

the beautiful thing is that the electoral college is fixing to become the device that keeps Democrats in power nationally for at least a couple of generations. Once Texas and Georgia go blue, there will really be no path back to the white house for Republicans.
