Our founding fathers were able to figure out what to do in regards to revolting from England. I think their advantage was that England was across the ocean and the colonies already were fairly autonomous in many ways. Currently, the federal government is so powerful and so invasive that any sort of revolution beyond the ballot box will be snuffed out pretty quick.
