One thing that does occur to me though, is that the wingnuts making Trayvon Martin into a thug will likely turn on Zimmerman if he is actually acquitted. If he does not get sent to prison, Zimmerman will likely to try to publicly make clear he isn’t a racist. And when tries to do that, said wingnuts will likely “remember” that Zimmerman’s mother is from Peru and then turn on him as a “treacherous brown person”.

I don’t know. Wingnuts are weird. Who knows, if he’s found guilty, they may make him into a right wing version of Mumia Al-Jamal, whose case by the way I’ve long thought was the worst for anti-death penalty rallying cries but that’s another story.
