“race relations are the worst in decades”… It’s Obama’s fault that the racists have come out in full force and effect to complain and undermine his presidency at every opportunity. There are some people who can’t see equal rights and protection under the law as a good thing because they think their own rights have been diminished in the process, even though everyone is now supposed to be on an even playing field under the law.

It’s why the GOP continues to oppose extending equal rights and protections to minorities (especially voting rights) and the LBGT (especially on gay marriage). They feel that their own rights are diminished when others have the same rights as they have long enjoyed.
