I’m just sick about the abduction and probably killing of a visiting Chinese scholar in my hometown. Authorities believe there is not much chance she is alive, but still praying.

A close friend of mine is friends with a young Chinese woman who has lived in the Chicago area for the past few years and who knew the victim and her family; she was absolutely devastated when the kidnapping was reported and now feels very unsafe in this country.
