The new SCOTUS appointment has the potential to have a far greater impact on people’s day to day lives than nearly anything that Trump has done to date or is contemplating doing—the attempt to re-instate the ability for insurance carriers to discriminate based on pre-existing conditions being the only one with possible greater significance.

this is true

and lets understand this as a single isolated thing

kennedy was luck or fate or timing. no one played the refs or did anything underhanded. its been clear for quite some time that this could happen. we all talked about it before the election. (merrick garland not withstanding)

trump is president
he gets to do this
and it sucks
and yes garland/gorsuch makes it worse

in and of itself, an opening, maybe 2 was likely to happen under any circumstances

im not saying its good in any way. only that it was somewhat forseeable
