Nope. Ammunition will become the currency of the day in such an America.
10 rounds 9mm/5.56 as the “dollar”. Varying exchange rates for other ones - popular ones (30-30, 30-06, 308, etc) worth than less common (30-40, 7mm mauser) ones.

At least I think some of these horders must think so… I’d just like to find some affordable 9mm target ammo again.

The currency of the post-apocalypse is bottle caps. Everybody knows this.
