I only ever seem to hear the Right spout off about “generosity” when it’s to make one of two points: That America should be loved because we’re “so giving,” or that items like welfare are “forced generosity” and the Right thinks that wrong because they want to decide how much to give and who to give it to.

Limbaugh said [I gotta try again to unsubscribe from his emails] that the Catholic Church turned Lefty because they mistook government spending for charity, when actually it’s theft. He didn’t use the word ‘theft’, I think he said ‘appropriating’ or something.
