Women are things. Therefore their daughters are property and they are just showing off the great stuff they own so that other men will envy them.

I know you are right, but… God forbid that I ever treat my daughter that way. She is beautiful and an amazing person in her own right, but she is not my possession and I never want to treat her as such.
