Am not a Bernie fan but there was a clip during the Tax Cut debate where he denounced a Republican Senator for saying that those who are older don’t have to worry about losing their benefits; as Bernie pointed out the real game is stripping them from those who are younger.

Those who are older tend more Republican and are dependent on the benefits. Those who are younger tend more Democratic and have been told since birth that Boomers will take away their Social Security, so the GOP figures they won’t lose anything screwing them.

All fixable by removing the income cap on FICA. And I say that as someone who would be affected by removing the cap.
