So I was up near the East German border 30 years ago, watching the East German TV cover the uprisings. Using coverage released by the Chinese authorities, I can assume.

I noted that they never showed any banners or let you hear anything they were chanting, just shouting faces and a voice-over describing them as counter-revolutionaries and cop killers.

And less than 6 months later, the wall came down.
