No. China was able to resort to draconian police state practices to restrict transmission, and the cruise ship was also able to keep people in rooms to stop transmission.

Here in America, those factors are not operative, and people here are highly likely to keep going to work while sick and avoid medical treatment because of costs and fear of losing income or the job entirely.
