Why would Gen Xers feel hatred of boomers over a freakin’ album? There’s nothing preventing Gen Xers buying record albums themselves (which is what drives the Billboard chart).

You’re looking at a tree. Think of the forest. Let’s try it this way: How often does a Frank Sinatra song end up back on the charts? Never, and the reason is that the subsequent generation, Boomers, completely replaced that generation in culture. What is not true is the following generation replacing it, because the Boomers were a much larger generation.

Don’t think too much into my rant, though. I’m not losing sleep over it. It’s just when you think of the direction generations get to try to take a country in their direction, newer generations are still fighting the old ones longer than before.
