You know, the gun owners groups repatedly accuse gun control supporters of “not understanding their way of life.” Well I would suggest that they do the same. It’s very easy to be cavailer about guns when you’re from an area that averages one homicide or maybe zero a year. Many of these gun control advocates come from parts of the country that have seen a lot of gun related homicides. You can disagree with them but I understand where they’re coming from.

Historically the issue has always been urban vs. rural, not left/right or Democratic/Republican. Urban folks with their situation have always wanted stronger restrictions on guns than folks who live out in the woods & fields. Population density has a profound way of shaping many facets of our nation.
