Hello, Lizards! Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend thus far.

So…this guitar has turned up on Craig’s List out of Brooklyn. But not just any guitar - a 1965 Gibson SG Junior, which has long been my dream guitar. The downside is that the guitar, earlier on in its life, was in a house that caught fire. As a result, the guitar did not burn, but the original lacquer finish has blistered and bubbled, mostly on the neck.

I’m waiting for the guy to get back to me. He’s looking for an American Strat in trade. Since you gotta give to get, I’ve offered up a 2001 American Series Strat and a little cash if need be.

Cross your fingers on this one. If this deal goes through, I might be done dealing guitars altogether.

I had one nearly that vintage when I was first learning guitar in about 1978. My parents bought it from a guy at church. I then traded it for a non-reverse Firebird because MORE P-90s! What a dumbass. I wish I had that SG Jr.
