Everyone I see who contends the Nazis were lefties is a wingnut hack with an agenda to liken all liberals to Nazis. Academics, you know people who actually spent nights studying the Nazis all contend they were on the right. I’ll trust an actual historian over some hack who goes “see they call themselves National Socialists ergo they’re lefties!” Now it is true that the Nazis weren’t lasiezz-faire capitalist and it’s also true that they did have a movement within the party that did have socialist inclinations but it’s also true that those members were purged. Hitler hated socialists and socialism. He saw it as detrimental to German national unity.
