I have been waiting for a remake of that:

A family buys an SUV to find that the GPS is haunted by the ghost of their mother who was killed in action in the Middle East. She gets them out of trouble and teaches them lessons on courage, loyalty and devotion to duty and citizenship…

Sounds better than the nonsense the original was, with mom inhabiting an antique car and continuing to run the life of her hapless married son, played to the hilt by Jerry Van Dyke. I loved it as a kid, mostly because I liked the car. I was disappointed to find out that there was no such thing as a 1928 Porter in real life.
