I remember growing up in the 60s in a Western Pennsylvania steel town where Dad made enough money in the mill that Mom could stay home and raise the kids. Dad made enough money to buy a house, a car, take a vacation every year and put the kids through college.
Those days died when Reagan broke the unions and gave the rich endless welfare in the form of deep tax cuts.
I grew up in those days as well with an almost identical story.
