You can add two things that didn’t happen: there were no trade barriers put up and no mass deportations. Trump had promised these two economy killers, and having them implemented was one of my biggest fears about his presidency.

No, those are being slow-rolled. No mass deportations, but cuts in legal immigration and a drop in undocumented. And fewer high-skilled immigrants coming in because they feel like they’re not welcome.

And on trade, Trump’s killing of TPP and his idiotic approach generally will, over time, reduce that.

So, no crash, just a slow strangling.
